“When someone has a good idea, we’re able to act on it for the benefit of our entire team.”

That statement from Sam Giannangeli at Ellevate Network sounds simple but remains outside the norm for many companies. By enabling all team members to enact positive change — ranging from a “good idea” from an employee to broader, long-term improvement strategies — Certified B Corporations amplify their opportunities for impact.

This week, we share examples of workers at B Corps large and small who are acting on their good ideas to create a better future.

On-the-Job Impact Initiatives

From a neighborhood mural project to a student-mentoring program to mental health and well-being resources, employees at B Corps are demonstrating why they are a company’s most valuable tool to successfully implement impact strategies.

On B The Change, find these and other stories from across the B Corp community — gathered through the B Hive — that show how employees are going the extra mile to have a positive impact.

Inspiration for Those Who Want to Change the World

What started as a side project to share the stories of optimism, hope, and passion from people working to make the world a better place has become a life-changing professional pursuit for Christina Marie Noel of Arc Benders. Through her website and podcast, she tells the stories of “everyday heroes” — and every worker can learn from these stories to find ways to bring purpose into their jobs and lives.

In her B The Change article, Noel shares the top 10 pieces of advice for people who want to change the world, based on interviews with more than 50 social impact leaders.

B Lab Voices: Investing in Change

The switch to regenerative agriculture holds promise as a potential way to mitigate the effects of climate change, but most farmers won’t be able to make the transition alone. To create viable, lasting change, they’ll need the support of investors who are willing to lean into the shift to regenerative practices, writes Andy Fyfe, an employee at B Lab, in the first edition of the B Lab Voices series.

On B The Change, Fyfe shares inspiring examples of B Economy leaders driving the shift to regenerative agriculture by investing in developments and creative applications to help farmers make the transition.
