Startups led by one or more woman raised nearly $2.9 billion in the U.S. last year — about $1 billion more than in 2017.

But their percentage of the $130 billion total venture funding raised by all companies in the country last year dropped from about 2.5 percent to 2.2 percent, according to PitchBook Data.

“2018 was a good market for venture despite volatility in the public markets, and I think female founders have enjoyed some of those trends,” Eva Ho, general partner at Los Angeles-based Fika Ventures, told Fortune magazine.
