December 10, 2019, Suzanne F. Stevens receives the Peter
The award is given to an individual who:
- Demonstrates the principles of philanthropy and stewardship through their actions and outcomes.
- Serves as a role model for others in giving for the sake of giving without expecting anything in return.
- Demonstrates professionalism and ethical behaviour that is consistent with the values of CAPS and the CAPS Foundation.
- The recipient may be a CAPS member or may come from outside the association.
As per the award guidelines, the nomination committee is comprised of: Peter Legge as chair and the first recipient; a CAPS board member; a CAPS foundation board member; and 2 Chapter Presidents.
Suzanne is honoured to be acknowledged by her peers. In her acceptance speech, which you can watch to below, she shares the opportunity that contributing provides:
“We have such a huge opportunity to contribute to the community in such profound ways. Being on the platform is such a privilege, and I honour that privilege. We have a responsibly to our audience; we can take that responsibility way beyond the rooms we speak in and create a massive ripple effect. It doesn’t take money; it takes commitment and engagement.”
